Metro PCS APN Settings

The Metro PCS APN settings or Access Point Name settings are the set of configurations that allows a device to connect to a network for data and multimedia messaging capability.  The Metro PCS Network settings are usually automatically configured, and do not need to be changed.  However, there are times when the APN settings need to be reconfigured, or added.  Especially, when a device from an0ther carrier is connected to Metro PCS.  The following is a list of APN settings for Metro PCS, and below that are the instructions on how to apply them for various phones:

Metro PCS APN Settings:

  1. APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  2. Username: <Blank>
  3. Password: <Blank>
  4. MMS:
  5. APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  6. Username: <Blank>
  7. Password: <Blank>
  8. MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
  9. MMS Proxy: <Blank>
  10. MMS Message Size: 1048576
  11. MCC: 310
  12. MNC: 260
  13. Authentication Type: not set
  14. APN Type: default, supl, mms
  15. APN protocol: IPv4
  16. Bearer: Unspecified
  17. MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

Metro PCS APN settings for iPhones

How to add Metro PCS APN Settings on an iPhone (iOS 6 or later)

  1. Turn WiFi “OFF” and 3G/4G “ON” and Data Roaming “ON” while the settings are being applied.
  2. Go to “Settings”, tap on WiFi and temporarily turn it OFF
  3. Back in “Settings”, scroll down to “Messages” and tap to open it. Make sure MMS is OFF
  4. Go back to “Settings”, tap on “General” and then “Cellular”. Make sure “Enable 3G” is ON & “Data Roaming” is ON.
  5. Scroll down & tap on “Cellular Data Network”
  6. Under “Cellular Data Network” put in the following:
    • Cellular Data APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • MMS APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS Proxy: <Blank>
    • MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
    • MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
    • Leave all other fields blank
    • Internet Tethering

      • APN: pcweb.t-mobile.com
      • Username: <Blank>
      • Password: <Blank>
  7. Click on the Home button to go back to the main phone screen
  8. Go back to “Settings” one more time, scroll down and tap on “Messages” and turn it ON
  9. Press the Home button and you’re set to send & receive MMS on Metro PCS!
  10. Once you have set it up and tested to see it works, you can re-enable WiFi, turn off Data Roaming and turn on 3G (or leave it off if you’re not in a 3G area for AT&T devices on our network).

How to add Metro PCS APN Settings on an iPhone (iOS 5 or earlier)

  1. Turn WiFi “OFF” and 3G/4G “ON” and Data Roaming “ON” while the settings are being applied.
  2. Cellular Data:
    • Select Settings.
    • General Settings.
    • Select Network.
    • Select Cellular Data Network.
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Username: <Blank>
    • Password: <Blank>
  3. MMS:
    • APN: fast.t-mobile.com
    • Username: <Blank>
    • Password: <Blank>
    • MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
    • MMS Proxy: <Blank>
    • MMS Message Size: 1048576
    • MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
  4. Internet Tethering
    • APN: pcweb.t-mobile.com
    • Username: <Blank>
    • Password: <Blank>

How to add Metro PCS APN Settings on a Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, HTC One, etc

  1. Open the Settings
  2. Select Wireless & networks
  3. Select Mobile Networks
  4. Select Access Point Names
  5. Tap the three dots at the bottom right and select New APN

How to add Metro PCS APN Settings on other Android Devices

  1. Open the Settings
  2. Select Wireless Connections
  3. Select More
  4. Select Mobile Networks
  5. Select Access Point Names
  6. Tap the three dots at the bottom right and select New APN

The APN settings for Android Devices

  1. APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  2. Username: <Blank>
  3. Password: <Blank>
  4. MMS:
  5. APN: fast.t-mobile.com
  6. Username: <Blank>
  7. Password: <Blank>

When a phone from another carrier is brought to Metro PCS, the correct Network settings need to be added to the phone in order for the phone to have internet and picture messaging capability.  This includes AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint phones.  Usually T-Mobile phones will already have working Network settings.

    my phone will not connect still and was connected until a day ago, i set up the apn and the the phone call works but not the picture message or setting up internet, or e mail. I am frustrated as hell
